LED Display or Video Wall / Digital Signage?

With recent technological advancements, LED Displays are generally more favoured as it is the most flexible
solution for creating high visual impact in size and brightness. But this is not always the optimal solution for
customer needs. In some cases, a videowall solution is better. Here are some considerations:

Screen Size & Resolution

If you are looking for a small sized display with high resolution, an LED Display may not be ideal. While a single OLED Display or Commercial TV can provide resolutions of up to 4K, and LED display will need to be much larger to achieve the required resolution.

If the size is not an issue but and you require a large image surface, LED displays allows you to obtain any required resolution by choosing one of the many pixel pitch options available.

Design, shape and aspect ratio

Videowalls are designed to be seen up close as they possess resolutions that LED displays do not have. The downside is that you are limited to a rectangular shape in a vertical or horizontal position, with a typical aspect ratio of 16:9 and, in some recent products, 32:9 or similar.

This flexibility of LED panels allows for the creation of large screens both with a standard 16:9 aspect ratio or with any other aspect ratio as well, horizontally or vertically.

Frame or seamless

The last aspect to consider is certainly the presence of thin black bezels that are present with video walls rather than the complete absence of them in a good quality and well installed LED display.

Brightness

While a standard indoor professional commercial TV or OLED brightness can reach up to 800 nits, a typical indoor LED can reach a brightness from 800 nits to 1,200 nits. In fact, 3,500 nits and above is the typical brightness for an outdoor LED module.
